United Way Alternative Spring Break Group Brings Social Impact to Washington, D.C. and Campuses Around the Country

Alexandria, Va. (March 25, 2015) - United Way Worldwide recently partnered with Kimberly-Clark's U by Kotex® Brand to host an Alternative Spring Break program in Washington, D.C. for 25 young women leaders from college campuses across the country. Wells Fargo’s Workplace Giving Program Earns United Way’s Top Honor

Company’s campaign ranked first for the sixth consecutive year San Francisco – March 19, 2015 –United Way Worldwide has recognized Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) for leading the largest workplace giving campaign in the U.S. in 2014, marking the sixth consecutive time Wells Fargo has earned the honor. During the company’s month-long Community Support and United Way giving campaign, Wells Fargo team members pledged $70.5 million, a 9 percent increase from 2013, and the 12th consecutive year-over-year increase.  Read More »

As millennials across the United States face an unemployment rate of more than 12 percent, a group of more than 40 students from universities around the country participated in “Maximum Impact: Deloitte’s Alternative Spring Break,” organized jointly by Deloitte, United Way of Miami-Dade and United Way Worldwide. Lenovo teams up with United Way in Europe to support life skills and education for young and vulnerable people

Historic Legislation to Human Trafficking

Alexandria, VA – Today, United Way Worldwide joins Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) and Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) in an effort to combat modern day slavery. The End Modern Slavery Initiative Act of 2015, being introduced today, would authorize an historic increase in support for anti-human trafficking efforts. United Way is taking a leadership role to galvanize support from faith-based, nonprofit and advocacy groups to join the campaign.
